Lakefront Residences is just around 2 minutes walk from Lakeside station on the East-West MRT line. This is one of the longest yet most efficient lines in Singapore, passing through the CBD and Central Financial Centre, and on to Changi Airport. If you like this line, and are looking for a new condo launch on it, the most promising one is likely to be Newport Residences at Tanjong Pagar. The new Newport condo will be around 6 minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station. Which gives it the advantage of being within the CBD (Core Central Region), unlike Lakefront which is an Outside Central Region (OCR) location. Newport Residences is being built by City Developments, which is as reputable and well-known as Keppel Land, and has an even longer list of completed projects under its belt. The Newport condo showflat was originally supposed to open for sale in 2023, but the launch was KIVed due to the cooling measures implemented then. At the moment, no decision has been made yet on when the Newport condo showflat will open for viewing.
